In a hidden Umbrian region where people still greet each other and lunch is sacred. Living here feels like stepping fifty years back in time.
You enter through the garden. The kitchen sits at ground level, looking out over a vegetable garden and a sunny terrace. Coffee in bare feet. Wine before sunset.
Come enjoy our 3 bedroom house, Casa Rovescia all year round. A place to slow down, enjoy good food, and spend time together. Not an Airbnb machine, just a small farmhouse in rural Umbria.

It’s fully equipped and ready to live in, with a kitchen, terrace, and space for up to four adults and two children.

*Because the house has several staircases, it’s best suited for guests who are comfortable with stairs and moving between levels.
Seasons & prices
For this first, quiet opening period we offer a
10% OPENING DISCOUNT
• High season June to the end of September €882 per week
• Mid season April, May, October: €795 per week
• Low season November to the end of March: €705 per week
Casa Rovescia is normally rented for a minimum of seven nights. Shorter stays may be possible outside the high season upon request. A one-time final cleaning fee of €84 applies to every booking, regardless of the length of stay.

FAQ
Casa Rovescia is in Pozzo, Via Case Leone 1. A tiny rural borgo in the Umbrian countryside, surrounded by olive groves, a few other houses, vineyards and farmland.
Montefalco and Bevagna are about 15 minutes away, Perugia, Spoleto and Assisi around 45 minutes, and both Rome and Florence can be reached in roughly two hours by car.
It is a peaceful base for exploring Umbria, while still feeling very much part of everyday rural Italian life.
Casa Rovescia sleeps up to six guests.
We think the house is most comfortable for two to four adults, or four adults and two children. There are three bedrooms spread over several floors.
Yes. Families are very welcome.
That said, Casa Rovescia is an old house with several staircases, different floor levels and an outdoor pool, so very young children will need supervision.
There is one bathroom, with a shower.
For two to four guests this generally works very well. For a full house of six, it is worth keeping in mind that everyone shares the same bathroom.
The house does not have central air conditioning.
There is a mobile air-conditioning unit and fans are available in the bedrooms. Especially useful in the hot months.
July and August can get very hot in Umbria. If you prefer milder temperatures, spring, early summer, September, October and November are wonderful times to stay.
Yes. Casa Rovescia has a private outdoor plunge pool in the garden.
It is intended for cooling off, relaxing and spending lazy afternoons outside rather than for serious swimming.
The pool is for the exclusive use of our guests.
Yes, there is Wi-Fi.
We are in the countryside, so it is not quite fibre-optic speed, but it is generally reliable enough for normal browsing, streaming and occasional remote work.
Mobile reception in and around the house is generally okay.
Yes.
There is Wi-Fi, reasonable mobile coverage and space to sit and work. It can be a lovely place for a longer stay or a working holiday.
We would, however, not recommend relying on the connection for work that requires extremely fast or completely uninterrupted internet.
We strongly recommend one.
Casa Rovescia is in rural Umbria and having a car gives you the freedom to visit villages, markets, wineries, restaurants and swimming spots in the area.
There is a designated parking space next to the house.

Yes, but not within easy walking distance.
There are supermarkets, bakeries, bars and restaurants in the surrounding villages and towns. Montefalco, Bevagna, Trevi and Spello are all within easy driving distance and are some of our favourite places for eating, drinking and wandering around.
We provide guests with our personal recommendations for the area.
Most of the time, yes, but it is not an isolated retreat in the middle of nowhere.
The house is situated in a tiny working rural borgo surrounded by agricultural land. Depending on the season, you may hear tractors, pruning, olive harvesting, wood cutting, dogs, church bells or neighbours going about their day.
For us, that is part of living in the Umbrian countryside.

Casa Rovescia is an old house spread over several levels, with quite a few stairs and changes in floor height. Bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living spaces are located on different floors.

Yes, and cooking is one of our favourite things to do at Casa Rovescia.
There is a fully equipped main kitchen on the ground floor, opening onto the terrace and garden, plus a small kitchenette upstairs.

Guests are also welcome to pick herbs and vegetables from the garden when they are in season.
Yes.
The washing machine is located in the utility/outbuilding area of the property and is available for guests to use.
Small, well-behaved dogs and cats may be possible by prior arrangement.
Please contact us before booking if you would like to bring a pet.
No smoking inside the house, please.
Smoking outside is fine, provided you are especially careful during the hot and dry summer months.
Casa Rovescia is primarily rented by the week.
Shorter stays may occasionally be possible outside the main season, depending on availability. Feel free to ask us.
Check-in is from 17.00 and check-out before 10.00.
Because the house is in a small village and we work with someone locally to prepare and check the house, we ask guests to let us know their expected arrival time at least 30 minutes in advance.
The house is rented as a private home, so you will have Casa Rovescia, the garden, terrace and pool to yourselves.
Bed linen, towels, kitchen essentials and the basic things you need to settle in are provided.
We also leave you our Casa Rovescia guide with our favourite restaurants, wineries, markets, swimming spots, day trips and things to do in the area.
No, and deliberately so.
Casa Rovescia is our own home in Umbria, which we share with guests when we are not there ourselves. It has old walls, collected furniture, books, art, things we have made and things we have found over the years.
If you are looking for a polished resort with room service and identical hotel rooms, Casa Rovescia probably isn't for you.
If you like character, food, culture, countryside and the feeling of temporarily having your own house in Italy, we think you will feel very much at home here.
